Welcome to my musical world!
I’m Sara Motevasselian, a composer specialising in film and visual media, as well as a pianist, vocalist, and piano and vocal teacher.
My musical journey began at an early age, starting with traditional Persian percussion (Tonbak) before moving on to piano and voice. Over time, this passion developed into a deeper focus on composition and musical storytelling.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. After completing my studies, I chose to fully pursue my passion for music, which led me to the University of Sussex, where I earned a master’s degree in Music and Sonic Media.
I have composed music for several short and feature films, some of which have been selected and awarded at international film festivals. I am also the winner of First Prize – Original Composition, UK International Music Composition Competition 2025.
My work focuses on creating cinematic, emotional, and narrative-driven music that supports and enhances visual storytelling.
Alongside my work as a composer, I also teach piano and vocal training, helping students build strong technique, musicality, and confidence, including preparation for ABRSM exams.
I also have experience in music production, sound design, and working with different sonic textures to create distinctive and expressive musical experiences.
